'Tis the Season for Christmas Nails!

Aside from the tree, the food, the family and the all around joy of Christmas, like any other girl, I love to celebrate the season on my nails! This is my first Christmas inspired nail, and I suspect it will not be my last.

This simple nail look is comprised of two coats of Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant from the "Glosstini" line in the colour 515 Sangria. I topped it off with one of my favourite glitter top coats (which I've used in many other posts) is called "Only Gold for Me" by Sephora by OPI.

This look is office friendly yet still very fun and festive. It is hard to capture on camera, but the glitter is quite pretty and fetching.

Tell me, what holiday nail looks do you plan to rock this season?

xoxo

Nails of the Day: Mint with a Sprinkle of Sparkle

Did someone say mint AND sparkles? I'm loving this nail combo lately! It's "Frosty Mint" (111) by Ceramic Glaze and "Only Gold for Me" top coat from Sephora by OPI just on my ring fingers. Heck, I need to dress up that finger with some kind of bling until I get the real thing. ;)

I have only seen Ceramic Glaze in at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada. I believe it is a newer brand. Have anyone outside of Canada seen it before?

What is your favourite nail at the moment?

Revlon Nail Art Expressionist

It's Friday, I had a half day at the office and so of course I had the urge to swing by the drug store. I went to pick up the new Garnier Dark Spot Masks (Which I got- review coming soon!), but I always find myself wandering to the nail isle.

I was in the mood for some sparkle and this Revlon Nail Art Expressionist duo in 350 "Ulterior Motif" caught my eye (plus it was on sale!). As summer is coming to an end, I find myself leaning towards darker shades as summer slowly fades away (sigh).

The base is a deep iridescent grey, not quite black, and the sparkles are a mixture of small and chunky pink sparkles. I had original planned on only using the sparkles for an accent nail, but I went sparkle craaazay and did them all.

Have you tried these polishes? I'm thinking of picking up a couple more shades!

Lots of love,

xx Jess

Clean and pretty professional-looking manicure at home

Hi Ladies!

I am super excited because tomorrow I have a job interview for a position in my field. I have been job hunting for a few months now so I'm really happy. When on an interview or in a professional setting, it's important to keep your nails clean and professional looking. Not to long, no chips and maybe skip the crazy neon greens.

For my interview I chose a soft pale pink with a sheer white topcoat over top. The colours I chose are called "Blush Rose" from Joe Fresh (This may only be available in Canada) and on top is "Couture" by Seche Vite.

I started by moisturizing my cuticles, pushing them back and filing my nails to the shape I like. I prefer a rounded square shape

Next, I applied two coats of Blush Rose, letting each coat dry in between.

I then finished off with the Seche Vite top coat and let my nails dry completely before doing anything with my hands. The last thing you want in an interview in smudged or chipped polish :/

What do you guys think? Are these nails interview appropriate?

Lots of love,

Jess xoxox

*NEW* CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Polish

Recently I've been hearing all about CoverGirl's new nail polish line, Outlast Stay Brilliant, and I've been so excited to try them out. According to various reviews it has excellent colour payoff, it's easy to apply and, best of all, is supposed to "outlast" the dreaded chipping for days and days. So naturally, when I saw those pretty little bottles smiling at me at my local Shoppers Drugmart, I couldn't resist.

The colour that I was immediately drawn to is called Wine Stain. It's a very deep red shade, which actually reminds me a lot of the infamous Lincoln Park After Dark by OPI.

So... what do I think?

I am very impressed with the application. It was very smooth to apply and not streaky at all (which I hate in a nail polish). I am also very pleased with the colour payoff. The images below are after two thin coats. Although, I noticed it also produced a very pretty sheer deep red with one coat, if that is the look you wish to achieve.

In terms of its staying power... this is yet to be determined. I have not applied any top coat in order to test its true durability and I will update after a few days.

Have you tried CoverGirl's new nail polish line? If so, let me know what YOU think in the comments below.

Lots of love,

Jess
